Hospitals are among several types of organizations invited to apply to win one of Minnesota's top environmental awards - the Governor's Awards for Pollution Prevention.
Applications for the annual program are due Aug. 1, via e-mail. The awards honor projects that reduce waste and pollution at the source, conserve natural resources, protect groundwater, save energy and practice sustainability.

- partnerships or collaborations between nonprofit organizations, businesses, public agencies and institutions.
Winners will be recognized at the state's annual Air, Water, and Waste Environmental Conference in February. For more information, including applications, past winning entries and assistance, visit www.pca.state.mn.us/oea/p2/govaward.cfm, call (800) 657-3864 or e-mail.
