During the gatherings, Stratis Health provided updates on current Centers for Medicare and Medicaid contract work, Minnesota's new Statewide Quality Reporting and Measurement System and other contracts that the organization is working on.
MHA representatives provided updates on the activities of the Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety (MAPS), including information about the upcoming Nov. 3-5 MAPS Patient Safety Conference and culture work. MHA also highlighted 2010 patient safety priorities, including infection prevention and improving transitions of care.
The association also invited hospitals to join the statewide MHA/Minnesota Organization of Leaders in Nursing Transitions of Care at the Bedside (TCAB) project. In addition, MHA Patient Safety Director Julie Apold presented details on MHA adverse health events work and calls-to-action activities.
Watch for the next regional patient safety meetings in spring of 2011.
